Rachel Jumper – Josée Paquin

I don’t know about you but the current weather makes me want to stay home and knit on my coach like a mad lady.  Therefore, I am not sewing a lot anymore.  Let’s then talk about the jumper I almost newer finished.

what is it?

I am an exclusive knitter, I only knit one project at a time. I very rarely have several projects on my needles on the same time as, in any case, one will always be preferred and knitted more. Beside, I like to see my project progressing quickly.
As a result, I rarely have some unfinished object, sleeping in a project bag. Even when I love motivation, I force myself to finish it before starting something else.

This jumper was definitely cursed. It took me more than a year to finish it. I started by knitting a Grand Large jumper from Lili comme tout. But I realized (only when the bodice was over) that I won’t have enough yarn. I ordered an additional skein from the US which literally costed me a fortune but no choice. Then, when I started building the sleeves, I acknowledged that the sleeves stripes won’t match the bodice’s ones which I dislike. I made very narrow stripes, only 2 rows each. The two colors are not that different and therefore, the result wasn’t very nice in my opinion.
After lots of hesitation, I decided to rip it off and cast on something else with this gorgeous yarn. I did it straight away but, at some point, lost motivation. I only had 1,5 sleeves to make but it took me more than 9 months to do it. At the end of 2016, I decided to finish all my WIP and it took me 2 days to be done with Rachel! So stupid of me to have let it sleep for so long!

This jumper is the Rachel pattern from Josée Paquin. It’s a top-down designed, knitted in the round, seamless. It is a boxy design with 3/4 sleeves.
It is meant to have a textured belt which I didn’t do as I wanted to keep it simple, considering that it already have stripes. It is a very simple design, perfect for beginners.

HOW IS IT MADE?

I used the Plucky Knitter yarn in the Traveller sport base, Good Ole Pip and Decorum Dictates colourways.
I really liked this yarn, much more than the primo base.

WHICH SIZE IS IT?

I have knitted a size S, based on the measurements chart and my gauge. It is perfect for me, just as I wanted it.

is it modified?

I haven’t done the textured belt.

do you like it?

I don’t understand why I have waited so long to finish it. It is a very nice jumper and I wearing it on a very regular basis now.
