What is a blockage?

The term "blocking," which often surprises people, simply means washing and shaping your knitting once it's finished. Nothing more, nothing less!
It's important to know that wool has shape memory. During knitting, the needle twists the fiber, forcing it into a specific position. This tightens the twist and restricts its natural movement. Soaking the wool releases the fiber, allowing it to regain its fluidity and bounce. The wool then retains this shape throughout the drying process to prevent it from changing further.
