During our autumn/winter collection, we presented our lovely Comète pattern. This pattern, available as a dress or blouse with various sleeve and collar options, was a great success and remains our favorite model in the showroom to this day.

Today we offer you a hack for the collar, the key element of this piece with its lovely details.

Flowers, pink... say no more! Only one element is missing: frills.

Our Spring Dew fabric has sharpened our creativity and inspired this new hack of the Comète pattern that we love to wear every day.

To make this garment (blouse version), trace the following pattern pieces:

• In front of x2
• Back x1 at the fold
• Sleeve x2
• Collar x2 at the fold

You will not need the "template" piece to draw the scallops.

The steps:

1. Start by interfacing the under-collar as shown in the tutorial.
2. Cut a strip of fabric 145cm long and 4cm wide.
3. Fold the strip in half lengthwise and press the fold with an iron. At 0.5cm and 1.5cm from the edge, sew two gathering stitches.
4. Gently pull the gathering threads (those from the bobbin) until the band is equal to the length of your collar.
5. Carefully distribute the gathers and pin the gathered band to the underside of the collar. Sew 7mm from the edge to hold everything in place.
   

7. Next, position the undercollar and the collar right sides together (the gathered band will then be sandwiched between the two layers). Machine stitch 1cm from the edge.

You can now unpick the gathering threads, trim the seam allowance and turn the collar right side out.

Give it a good ironing to get a nice finish and you're done!
