The Love at First Sight knitting pattern

With the Love at First Sight socks, we revisit the Suzette sock pattern by incorporating our Amour motif, a shower of graphic hearts. Same construction, same knitting pleasure, but with an extra dose of whimsy.

Knitted toe-up with a German short-row heel, these socks offer a rhythmic and playful project, ideal for enjoying fair isle knitting without overcomplicating things.

Gauge:

Amour motif: 10 cm = 34 stitches x 38 rows (3 mm needles)
Adjust needle size to achieve the correct gauge.

Yarn:

Merino silk (70% SW merino, 30% Mulberry silk) fingering (200 m for 50 gr)

Approximately:

• 1 skein color A & 1 skein color B

Are the patterns suitable for beginners?

We always indicate the skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) on each product page. If you're a beginner, choose stockinette stitch patterns with fewer specific techniques. And above all: take your time 💓

Are the patterns sent in paper or PDF format?

Our patterns are available as downloadable PDFs immediately after purchase. You can print them at home or view them on a tablet.

How to choose the right size?

Each pattern includes a measurement chart and ease instructions (more or less room). We recommend measuring a sweater you already like and comparing it to the final measurements given in the pattern.

What are positive and negative ease?

Ease refers to the difference between your bust measurement and the final garment size.

Positive ease: the garment is larger than your measurements → loose and comfortable fit.
Negative ease: the garment is smaller than your measurements → the knit stretches and hugs the body (like a ribbed sweater).
It is therefore normal that the recommended size does not correspond to your ready-to-wear size: always rely on the measurements indicated in the pattern. Example: if the pattern indicates a positive ease of 5cm and your bust measurement is 95cm, you should choose the size closest to 100cm (i.e., 95 + 5).

Is the sample really necessary?

Yes, absolutely. It allows you to check your tension and achieve the correct final size. Even with the recommended needles, every knitter knits differently. Don't hesitate to adjust the needle size (larger or smaller) according to your tension to obtain the correct gauge.
