With its elegance inspired by the Roaring Twenties, Evelyne is a refined sweater with delicate details. Its diamond stitch adds subtle texture, while its saddle shoulders create a structured silhouette. On the back, a keyhole opening secured by a button provides a feminine finish, complemented by generous balloon sleeves that enhance its couture look.

The construction begins at the shoulders, then the back, which is knitted flat down to the armholes. Stitches are then picked up from the shoulders to form the front sections, worked separately before being joined to shape the neckline. The body then continues in the round to the bottom. The sleeves are picked up directly around the armholes and knitted in the round down to the cuffs.

The Evelyne knitting pattern

With its elegance inspired by the Roaring Twenties, Evelyne is a refined sweater with delicate details.

Its diamond stitch adds subtle texture, while its saddle shoulders create a structured silhouette. On the back, a keyhole opening fastened with a button provides a feminine finish, complemented by generous balloon sleeves that enhance its couture appeal.

Construction begins at the shoulders, then the back, worked flat down to the armholes. Stitches for the shoulders are then picked up to form the front halves, worked separately before being joined to shape the neckline. The body is then worked in the round to the bottom. The sleeves are picked up directly around the armholes and worked in the round to the cuffs.

Advanced level: the Evelyne pattern includes numerous technical stitches.

Measurements are given for the finished bust circumference. This model is designed with approximately 15 cm of ease* and is intended for a height of 165 cm. Do not hesitate to adjust the length according to your height.

*If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Diamond stitch : 10 cm = 20 stitches x 26 rows (4.5 mm / US 7 needles)
Adjust needle size to obtain the correct gauge.

Are the patterns suitable for beginners?

We always indicate the skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) on each product page. If you're a beginner, choose stockinette stitch patterns with fewer specific techniques. And above all: take your time 💓

Are the patterns sent in paper or PDF format?

Our patterns are available as downloadable PDFs immediately after purchase. You can print them at home or view them on a tablet.

How to choose the right size?

Each pattern includes a measurement chart and ease instructions (more or less room). We recommend measuring a sweater you already like and comparing it to the final measurements given in the pattern.

What are positive and negative ease?

Ease refers to the difference between your bust measurement and the final garment size.

Positive ease: the garment is larger than your measurements → loose and comfortable fit.
Negative ease: the garment is smaller than your measurements → the knit stretches and hugs the body (like a ribbed sweater).
It is therefore normal that the recommended size does not correspond to your ready-to-wear size: always rely on the measurements indicated in the pattern. Example: if the pattern indicates a positive ease of 5cm and your bust measurement is 95cm, you should choose the size closest to 100cm (i.e., 95 + 5).

Is the sample really necessary?

Yes, absolutely. It allows you to check your tension and achieve the correct final size. Even with the recommended needles, every knitter knits differently. Don't hesitate to adjust the needle size (larger or smaller) according to your tension to obtain the correct gauge.
