The Formband – Stabilmanche from the recognized brand Vlieseline is an iron-on bias tape with a chain stitch to stabilize bias-cut (diagonal) edges of the fabric or rounded edges. It is particularly intended for use in the manufacture of garments facilitating the finishing and assembly of pieces cut at an angle or rounded. It is a great help and it is one of the brand’s flagship products, widely used by seamstresses.

How to use the bias tape Vlieseline 12mm?

The trim is 12mm wide, with a 4/8mm chain stitch along its length. The trim must be heat sealed so that the 8 mm side is along the selvedge. It should be sewn directly next to the chain stitch line.

– Place the rough side of the stabilizer on the wrong side of your fabric and pre-fix the ends with your iron set on a low setting.
– Fix with the iron always dry, moving your iron every 8 seconds without slipping to avoid stretching the piece. – Leave to cool after fixing for 20 min flat in order to obtain a perfect adhesion.
