Yes ! We love seeing your creations so much! Do not forget to tag us (@lisetailor) and add the hashtags #lisetailor and the hashtag of the boss (indicated on the cover ex: #robebelledeschamps). On Instagram, you will find in our guides the achievements made with our fabrics by our customers. You can also find on our Pinterest account the cousettes posted by other seamstresses.

Do your patterns have to be sewn in a Lise Tailor fabric?

Our patterns were made with our fabrics but you can absolutely use another fabric of equivalent quality. On each of our patterns, the type of fabric is indicated (warp & weft, jersey, etc.).

Why do your patterns only go from 34 to 48?

We are at the start of the boss adventure and as at Lise Tailor we like to do things well, we have focused our work on this size range. It is not enough to grade a few additional sizes, the garment must be perfectly adapted to each morphology. This is why we take the time to come up with patterns that we are completely satisfied with and approved by our testers.

What is a PDF pattern?

It is a pattern in electronic format that you must download, print and then assemble.

Each pdf pattern contains:

  • A file with detailed sewing explanations (color diagrams and precise step by step) in French and English
  • A full-size board – without overlay in A4 format with all sizes
  • A file with the instructions for printing the pattern
  • A nice visual representing the front of the pocket to print and stick in your pretty sewing binder to keep your pattern pieces.

The PDF format is only available for the patterns of our brand Lise Tailor.

How to order a PDF pattern?

Select in the store among the Lise Tailor patterns then choose the PDF format and add to the cart. Confirm your order and pay.

Following your purchase, you can directly download your files in the confirmation email. You can also find your PDF products on the online store, in your account, “downloads” section.

If you have any problems, contact us through the contact form with your name and the order number so that we can resolve the problem and you can download the pattern.

How to print a PDF pattern?
  • Download and open the file with the pattern pieces.
  • Before printing all the pages, I advise you to check that the scale is correct with the test square by printing only the first page.
From the print options, select Actual Size or Custom Scale: 100%, A4 size.
Measure the square. It should be 5cm (1,97 in) high and 5cm (1,97 in) wide.
Once the scale has been verified and validated, print all of your pattern’s pages (always at Actual size or 100% scale).
  • The pattern is assembled from left to right and top to bottom. Each leaf is identified by a letter and a number. A letter represents a line, then the numbers are to be placed in order.
Check using the diagram below that you have all the parts and their indications.
To reconstitute the pattern, position the sheets edge to edge without cutting the margins. Secure them together with duct tape.
Then offset your size on tissue paper by completing the unprinted lines on the edges of the sheets and cut your pieces (the seam allowances are included and specified in the table of the cutting plan).
I can't download a PDF pattern?

Contact us through the contact form with your name and the order number so that we can resolve the problem and you can download the pattern.

How long is my download link valid?

The link to the downloadable explanations is valid without time limit. However, we recommend that you click on the link from a computer and immediately perform a reliable backup of the file.

What size knitting needles do you recommend for knitting yarns?

Merino alone is knitted in 3-3.5 needles. Merino and mohair threads held together are knitted on needles of approx. 4 to 4.5 mm. The same applies if you choose to knit 2 strands of mohairs together.

What is the 10 cm x 10 cm sample of your balls?

The sample is not necessarily representative as it depends on the needles used and how you knit (rather loose or tight).

For your information :

For the Fingering Merino:

  • with a single thread: approx.26-30 stitches
held in duplicate (2 strands of mohair or 1 strand of mohair and 1 strand of merino): approx. 18-24 stitches
    For the Mohair:
  • with a single thread: approx.40 stitches
held in duplicate (2 strands of mohair or 1 strand of mohair and 1 strand of merino): approx. 18-24 stitches

However, we recommend that you validate your own sample based on the pattern you have chosen to knit.
Our yarns will allow you to knit models in fingering (with a single merino thread) or in DK (with two threads held together).

How many balls do I need to knit a pullover?

We cannot give you an exact number, it depends on the model chosen (loose or adjusted), on the knitted size, if the yarn is knitted alone or together… For the yardage, you should base yourself on what is indicated on the sheet of the model.

For example, if the model recommends 1200m of thread, you will need 6 balls from us for merino (200m per ball).

I am a beginner, what models do you advise me to knit?

We recommend the Secret sweater or the Luz sweater by Atelier Emilie which are knitted with a merino yarn and a mohair yarn held together. These are beginner jumpers that will be great as a first project if you are new to knitting.

You can also choose the Nougatine beanie from Lolilafée.

The book “Je me mets au tricot” will also be of great help.

Is the wool superwash?

Indeed our merino wool is superwash, which means it has been chemically treated so it can be machine washed. However, we recommend washing our mohair by hand.

Your balls of merino are made in France, what does that mean?

“Made in France” is obtained when the main part of the transformation of the raw material, namely its finishing, is carried out in France. This is the case with our merino balls.

Do you offer knitting patterns?

No, we do not offer a model to knit our yarns, but knitting designers do this very well. On our blog, you will find the references of the models that we have knitted with our yarns.

Which buttons to choose to match your yarns?

The yarns have been designed to match our button colors perfectly.

Merino Wool and Navy Blue Mohair -> Navy Blue Buttons
Merino Wool and Mohair Nude -> Off White or Old Pink Buttons
Orage Merino Wool and Mohair -> Orage Buttons
Merino Wool and Mohair Terracotta -> Buttons Terracotta
Merino Wool and Mohair Verbena -> Verbena Buttons
Dusty Pink Merino Wool and Mohair -> Dusty Pink Buttons

What does “Fingering” and “Lace” mean?

This corresponds to the thickness of the wool.

Find here all the information to understand and choose the right yarn here

To find out more, we recommend Lise’s book “Je me mets au tricot” which will give you all the basics to start knitting serenely.

Is it possible to match your fabrics with your wools?

Sure ! Our wools have been designed to match our fabrics for pretty 100% Lise Tailor outfits! You can find in the description of each fabric the wool colors that will go best together.

Do you plan to offer new bases and colors soon?

Wool and knitting are a passion at Lise Tailor and we intend to continue to offer you nice new products on a regular basis. We will therefore regularly enrich our offer with new yarns and new colors.

A product is sold out, when will it be back in stock?

At Lise Tailor, we exclusively produce small series. Restocking is not always guaranteed depending on the different suppliers. However, we do our best to ensure that returns in stock are as quick as possible.

You can subscribe to a product’s waiting list and be notified by email when it is back in stock. This waiting list is available from the product page in question.
