Description
Meet Opale:
The Opale slipover can be worn either as a top for a spring look or as a slipover for mid-season. It is knitted from the bottom up in the round using a lovely diamond lace pattern. We then separate the front and the back to knit them flat. The neckline is shaped using short rows and then picked up to create the collar. Shoulder ruffles are knitted last, after the shoulders have been seamed together.
Advanced beginner level: Opale is not complicated to knit but still contains different techniques to master for a nice finish, so it makes a perfect 2nd knitting project.
The techniques:
- Opale’s body is knitted in stockinette stitch in the round with a lovely diamond lace pattern
- German short rows are used to shape the neckline and the ruffles
- Increases – decreases
- 1/1 ribs
- Grafting
Sizes:
1 (2 – 3 – 4 – 5)
Bust circumference: 83.5 (90 – 96 – 107 – 118) cm [33 (35.5 – 38 – 42.25 – 46.5) ‘‘]
The measurements are given for the finished bust circumference. This pattern is designed with an approximate ease of 0 cm* [0’’] and is intended for a height of 165 cm [5.5 ft]. Feel free to adjust the length to fit your height.
*If you are hesitating between two sizes, opt for the smaller size for a fitted top with negative ease. Alternatively, choose the larger size if you prefer to wear the garment as a slipover, offering a bit more space and comfort.
