THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT

For this crop-top version of the Poleen dress pattern, you will need quite little metrage.

You can count a little less than 90cm for all sizes.

On the haberdashery side, you need some elastic thread for the shirring. To make your adjustable straps, you will need adjuster rings. You can finish your Poleen crop-top with top cord set.

THE TUTORIAL

To make these modifications, you will need the pattern pieces of the Front Bodice  (1), the Back (4), the Tie (5), the Straps (6) and the Straps Loop (7)

In this version, the fake dress effect is removed to get only the top.

1 – On your Back pattern: Cut on the last gathers marker line to separate the dress. You then get the Back patronage of your top. (see picture below)

2– Make your Front Bodice as indicated in the explanatory booklet of the pattern of the Poleen dress.

3– Finish the raw edges of your back. Then make the shirring as indicated in the Poleen pattern’s booklet.

4– When assembling the side seams (step 14 of the explanatory booklet): Assemble the upper edge as indicated in the booklet, then repeat the operation for the bottom edge.

And that’s it, your Poleen crop-top is already finished!
