Last arrival in our patron library, the Romance dress is available from the crop top to the midi dress. Lise loves it, and this time she made a slightly different version of it.
This simplified version does not include lacing or superposition effect, making it a little easier and faster to sew.

tutorial
To make these modifications, you will need the pattern pieces of the Front Lining and the Back Lining.
Indeed, the Front and Back of the original version that creates the overlay effect are not used in this version. Your Front and Back Lining pieces then become your Front and Back.
1 – Make a facing pattern for a pretty finish: take back your Front Lining and Back Lining pieces and draw a line 6 cm from the top of your pieces. Trace and then cut your new pattern piece on this line.
1 – Cut your front, back (“Lining” pieces) and facings x1 at the fold.
3 – Finish the raw edges of the sides of your facing pieces, then assemble your facings by the sides. Open the seams open and finish the bottom raw edge all around.
4 – Follow the tutorial until step 9 “Assembling the front and the back lining“
5 – Then, place your bust and facing with right sides together. Sew 1 cm from the edge at the necklines and armholes. Trim the seam allowance to 5mm, and clip the curves.
Give a press to tip the seam allowances towards the inside.
6- Under stitch the facing: understitch 2mm from the edge on the facing side in 4 times: the front, back and armholes. Start and stop the seam 1cm before/after the corners.
7 – Continue to sew your Romance dress by following your tutorial booklet.
