MATERIALS NEEDED
Fabric (width 140cm):
- From 34 to 38: Add 40 cm to the recommended metrage
From 40 to 52: Add 80 cm to the recommended metrage
Iron-on: the metrtage remains the same
Buttons:
11 buttons from 9 to 12 mm for this extended version of 40cm, to be adapted if your modifications are different
tutorial
To make these modifications, you will need the pattern for the front, back and button placket of your Pimpante shirt.
1 – Start by cutting your patterns on the “lengthen/shorten” line.
2 – Define how many centimeters you want to extend your shirt by. Our pattern are designed for a height of 1m65 and we decided to give our dress a mid-thigh length so we added 40cm. You can adjust the length to add based on your height and preferences.
Be sure to add a few extra centimeters if you want to wear the dress belted to make it drape over the bust.
3 – Spread your pieces and retrace your side seam lines, making sure to keep the grainline aligned as shown in the diagram.
4 – Cut all your pieces and follow your tutorial for assembling the dress.
5 – Embroider 9 buttonholes spaced 7cm apart on the button placket and 1 buttonhole on the collar stand.
Well done ! Your brand new Pimpante dress is complete!
